CONFESSION 1
Scripture
Romans 1:7
I am writing to all of you in Rome who are loved by God and are called to be his own holy people. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.
Confession
I am loved by God and called to be a saint, a holy one. I am holy. I have grace and peace from God my Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ
CONFESSION 2
Scripture
Romans 5:5 (The Passion Translation)
And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us!
Confession
The love of God has been bestowed (given to, deposited, given quarters in, presented as a gift to, housed, lodged, stowed, stored) upon my heart (my spirit and my soul) by the Holy Spirit. God’s love has been poured out into my heart by the Holy Spirit. His love has gushed and spilled out into my heart. I am a depository of God’s love.
I am a receiver, a container, a receptacle, a reservoir of God’s love. I am a conductor and a transmitter of God’s love. God’s love flows freely through me, blessing me and blessing those who come into contact with me.
I experience the endless love of God cascading into my heart through the Holy Spirit who lives in me!
So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate me from God’s love. I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens.
CONFESSION 3
Scripture
Romans 5:8 – 9
God showed His great love for me by sending Christ to die for me even while I was yet a sinner.
Christ so loved me I therefore also love my brothers and sisters in Christ and hence maintain an unbroken love chain, I keep the love ring going!
I love as God loves, unconditionally, unfailingly, even while people are yet sinning against me.
But Christ proved God’s passionate love for me by dying in my place while I was still lost and ungodly! I will never run out of things to say about His unfailing love for me! I will never stop talking about it! For through the blood of Jesus I have heard the powerful declaration, “You are now righteous in my sight.” And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, I will never experience the wrath of God.
CONFESSION 4
Scripture
Romans 8:35 – 39
Who could ever separate us from the endless love of God’s Anointed One? Absolutely no one! For nothing in the universe has the power to diminish his love toward us. Troubles, pressures, and problems are unable to come between us and heaven’s love. What about persecutions, deprivations, dangers, and death threats?
No, for they are all impotent to hinder omnipotent love, even though it is written: All day long we face death threats for your sake, God. We are considered to be nothing more than sheep to be slaughtered! Yet even in the midst of all these things, we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors, and his demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything! So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God’s love. I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens. There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love.
There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon us through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!
Nothing can separate me (take me away or tear me away) from the endless love of God’s Anointed One, Jesus Christ. Absolutely no one! No one can pluck me out of His hand).
His love for me transcends all trouble and all calamity. Nothing in the universe has the power to diminish his love toward me. Troubles, pressures, and problems are unable to come between me and heaven’s love. Nor persecutions, deprivations, dangers, or death threats.
It doesn’t mean He no longer loves me if I have trouble or calamity, or if I am persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death. Christ’s love for me still remains the same as ever no matter how I feel or what I may be going through and I have just as much trust in His love as ever regardless of whatever I may be going through.
These things are all impotent to hinder omnipotent love. Even in the midst of all these things, I triumph over them all, for God has made me to be more than a conqueror, and His demonstrated love is my glorious victory over everything!
So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate me from God’s love. I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens.
He still loves me even if I lose my life for His sake, in fact then He can embrace me in person. Yes, despite all these things overwhelming victory is mine through Christ who (still) loves me. There is victory in love, Christ’s love makes me victorious. The fact alone that I still know that God still loves me even in the middle of all these things and that I experience His love, is an overwhelming victory in and of itself.
This fight of faith is in the heart and in the mind. God’s love is a winning card, a winning ticket. These things come to make me lose faith in the love of God and make me believe that he no longer loves me. But I am convinced that in fact nothing can separate me from God’s love. And I will not let anything ever convince me that it can. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither my fears for today nor my worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell, can separate me from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed nothing in all creation will be able to separate me from the love of God’s that is revealed in Christ Jesus my Lord.
There is nothing in my present or future circumstances that can weaken his love. There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance me from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon me through my Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!
CONFESSION 5
Scripture
Romans 12:9 – 21
Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.
Love each other with genuine affection and take delight in honoring each other.
Never be lazy but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.
When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them.
Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep.
Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!
Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable.
Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.
Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the LORD.
Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.”
Don’t let evil conquer you but conquer evil by doing good.
My love for others is genuine and sincere. I don’t just pretend to love others; I really love them.
I hate what is wrong, but I hold tightly to what is good.
I love other Christians with genuine affection and take delight in honoring them.
I am never lazy, but I work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically
When God’s people are in need, I am ready to help them. I am always eager to practice hospitality.
I bless those who persecute me. I don’t curse them; I pray that God will bless them.
I am empathic. I rejoice with those who rejoice, and I weep with those who weep.
I endeavour to live in harmony with other Christians. I am not too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. I do not think I know it all.
I will never pay back evil with more evil.
I will always do things in such a way that everyone can see I am honorable.
I do all that I can to live at peace with everyone. I never take revenge. I leave that to the righteous anger of God. The scriptures promise that the Lord will repay and will pay my enemies back.
Therefore, if my enemies are hungry, I will feed them. If they are thirsty, I give them something to drink. In doing this I heap burning coals of shame on their heads.
I will not let evil conquer me, but I will conquer evil with good.
CONFESSION 6
Scripture
Romans 13:8 – 10
Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law. For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.” These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.
Confession
I will never fully repay the debt of love that I owe to my brethren in Christ, it is a constantly outstanding debt. When I walk in love, I fulfil the requirements of God’s law.
I love my neighbour as myself.
CONFESSION 7
Scripture
Romans 14:1 – 4
Romans 14:1 – 4, 13
Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong. For instance, one person believes it’s all right to eat anything. But another believer with a sensitive conscience will eat only vegetables. Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them. Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? Their own master will judge whether they stand or fall. And with the Lord’s help, they will stand and receive his approval.
So, let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.
Confession
I accept other believers who are weak in faith. I will not argue with them about what they think is right and wrong. I will not look down on them or condemn them. I accept them as God has accepted them. I am not a judge of God’s servants.
I will live in such a way that will not cause another believer to stumble or fall. I aim for harmony in the church and I endeavour to build other believers up.
CONFESSION 8
Scripture
Romans 15:1 – 7, 30
We who are strong must be considerate of those who are sensitive about things like this. We must not just please ourselves. We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. For even Christ didn’t live to please himself. As the Scriptures say, “The insults of those who insult you, O God, have fallen on me.” Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.
I am considerate of the sensitivities of other Christians regarding their thoughts on subjects like what they eat or drink or what day they observe as holy.
In following the example of Christ, I will not just please myself about these things but instead I will help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.
I am increasingly learning and receiving encouragement from the scriptures to patiently endure and do this even when it means taking flak or insults for it.
Through learning this patience and encouragement from the scriptures God helps me to live in perfect harmony with others as is fitting for a follower of Jesus Christ. Together with other followers of Jesus Christ we then all join together in harmony, with one united voice of love we give praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I accept other believers just as Christ has accepted me, to the degree that Christ has accepted me.
I will reverence and honor them just as I reverence and honour Christ.
I will accept them to the same degree that I accept Christ, that is completely.
I will forgive them just as Christ has forgiven me.
I will love them just as Christ loves me and as I love Christ.
I will forgive them and seek peace, harmony and forgiveness from them just as I seek these things from Christ.
All of this will cause glory to be given to God.
The Holy Spirit has given me love for the brethren.
